How to use products

All individual products in the Lem box include instructions on how to use and store products, below are general details on how to use most of the products in our Lem box.

Ovulation LH strips

Using LH test strips or Ovulation predictor kit. You first have to determine the length of your menstrual cycle. This is the number of days from the first day of your period to the day before your next period begins again, count the first day of period as day 1. Calculate what the usual length of your menstrual cycle has been over the last few months. Once you have worked out the length of your cycle refer to the chart below to determine on which day of your menstrual cycle you should begin testing.

  • For best results, first morning urine should NOT be used. Testing should be done around the same time each day. You should reduce your liquid intake approximately hours prior to testing.
  • Urinate into a clean, dry cup or container.
  • Remove the test strip from the pouch.
  • Dip the test strip in the cup or container in a vertical position with the arrows pointing downward, approximately 1/4 inch and hold it there for at least 5 seconds. Do not dip past the stop line.
  • Remove the test strip and lay on a flat surface.
  • Read after 5-10 minutes.

Positive = LH Surge:

If 2 lines are visible and similar in color, your LH has surged and you will probably ovulate in the next 12 to 36 hours. Once you have detected your LH surge, sexual intercourse is advised.

Negative = No LH Surge:

If 2 lines are visible but the test line is lighter than the control line, your LH level has not reached a positive level. You should continue testing daily.

Invalid:

If a control line does not appear, the test is invalid and should be ignored. Reasons for invalid results: insufficient specimen or test was not perform properly. Discard and repeat test with a new strip.

Basal Body Temperature (BBT)

Basal body temperature is your lowest body temperature in a 24 hour period. To start recording your BBT, you will need to measure your temperature daily after you’ve had at least four hours of uninterrupted sleep.

When do I measure my BBT

Every morning about the same time, before you get up, before your feet hit the floor, before you sit up in bed, before you have sexual intercourse, drink, or eat anything. Chart your results.

How would i know if I have ovulated

You should notice your temperature quickly rise above the range of lows that preceded it, usually a rise of 0.5 to 1 degree, and then it will stay high for 12 to 16 days, until you get your period.

What if my BBT occasionally rise on other days

You probably haven’t ovulated, that is why it is good to do your BBT in tandem with ovulation predictor kits (OPK) or LH test strips.

Overall your BBT doesn’t tell you when you’re going to ovulate, only that you have ovulated.

Fertility-friendly Lubricant

Remove the safety seal under the cap before first use. Apply a generous amount of lubricant to the vagina or penis and reapply as often as required to maintain sufficient lubrication. Not needed, but you may use an Applicators for intra-vaginal application if you wish.

Fertility Tea

We do use several brands and some may come with instructions, for all teas we recommend, daily use or twice a day, at any time during the day. Continue to drink the tea until you have a positive pregnancy test, at which time you should stop using the tea. For fertility mama tea in the Kraft bag, a pinch can make a cup of tea.
